Artist Statement

In the realm of miniature painting, I seek to create a cosmic narrative that transcends the traditional confines of the art form. My work is a contemplative odyssey that reflects on the interplay between hierarchy and conflict, authenticity and fabrication, set against the tapestry of the cosmos. It is through the lens of Sufi philosophy that I delve into themes of the self (‘Nafs’) and the spirit (‘Ruh’), striving to connect historical tradition with contemporary relevance.

The canvases I create are populated with symbolic imagery derived from an amalgamation of literary sources and mythological archetypes. Horned figures, dragons, and intricate geometric divisions are more than mere artistic choices; they are the embodiment of internal struggles and the pursuit of empowerment. Through my art, viewers are invited to witness the dynamic balance of narrative and abstraction.

My choice of a minimalist palette punctuated with some strokes of bold color allows for a meditation on the essence of my subjects, while innovative spatial arrangements invite the audience to join in the cosmic symphony. Each piece is an invitation to ponder, explore deeper realms of meaning, and engage with the profound themes that promise a continued journey of self-discovery and cosmic inquiry.

This is not just art; it is a silent conversation, a passage into the labyrinth of the soul, a guide to the divine comedy and tragedy of life. With each creation, I aim to challenge, comfort, and celebrate the enduring and undying spirit of inquiry that defines us all.

Through my work and its evolution, I endeavor to capture not only the visible but also the invisible ties that bind us to our individual and collective destinies as well as the social landscape and the societal challenges that shape all our identities.
